Are you a Sony HXR-NX5U user? From googling, I found some users want to know how to smoothly import .mts/.m2ts files from NX5U to FCP 7 for editing all the time. These users often met come errors when they drag or copy Sony HXR-NX5U AVCHD recordings to FCP 7. There were major issues... many users complained that if a clip was over 5 minutes long, it would take 3-4 hours to import. As we know, AVCHD is not a good editing video format, so we often meeet some trouble and take some rendering time when importing.

If you don’t want to waste time and money to make the update of your video editing pro, you’d better invest to get a powerful and be-used-forever tool to encode AVCHD to FCP 7 native support format Apple ProRes for fast importing and editing. AVCHD to FCP ProRes Converter will be your best choice because it’s professional in transcoing AVCHD footages to ProRes for Final Cut Pro with the optimal presets. I have used it to change my many AVCHD footages to ProRes 422 HQ/LT. It works fast and the converted vide qiuality is excelent for editing. Below is teh guide on making AVCHD editble for FCP.

Guide on Converting Sony HXR-NX5U AVCHD footages compatible ProRes with FCP 7 on Mac OS X?

Click "Add" icon to select the files you want to convert to the best Mac MTS/M2TS Converter for FCP 7.

STEP 2: Select Output Profile

Select the output format for FCP 7 via clicking on Format > Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) (.*mov). And you can set the output folder as you want.

Click the “Settings” icon and you’d better set the video size as 1920*1080, video frame rate as 30fps for importing Sony HXR-NX5U AVCHD to FCP 7 with the best quality.

Tip: If your files were recorded in AVCHD FX (24Mbps) or AVCHD FH (17Mbps) 1920x1080/60i recording option, you’d better deinterlace Sony NX5U 1080/60i MTS first to remove all these interlacing artifacts from videos via ticking the “Deinterlacing” box in the Video Editor interface.
